WHO ARE WE ?

Musical Service Ltd was set up by Russell Swift to deal with the expanding side of the contracting, tour managing and promotion side of an expanding business.

Russell is happy to have survived 25 years as a successful professional bass player.

Since graduating from Leeds College of Music in 1987 he has played bass guitar & double bass on many theatre shows, sessions and gigs, and hope to do so for the foreseeable future.

His "fixing" career started by accident, when someone had  to fix a 30 piece orchestra at a days notice to mime on a Maureen Lipman sit-com, for the now defunct Carlton TV and no-one else would do it!

As a bass player he enjoys a varied career, equally at home in an orchestra or jazz quartet.

Some of the gigs and shows he has played on;

Matthew Herbert, Russell Watson, Glenn Miller (UK) Orchestra, Jack Jones, Marti Pellow, Matt Monro Jnr, Gene Pitney, Gary Wilmot, Tony Christie, Bob Hope, Max Bygraves, Blur, British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.

Theatre Shows

A Chorus Line, Annie, Anything Goes, Assassins, Avenue Q,

Beauty & the Beast, Blood Brothers, Cats, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Crazy for You, Evita, Fame, Follies, Full Monty, Guys & Dolls, Into the Woods, Jeeves, Jolson, Joseph, Lark Rise, Les Miserables, Little Shop of Horrors, Rat Pack, Rock Hard, Saturday Night Fever, Seven Brides, Singing in the Rain, Sister Act, Sound of Music, Starlight Express, The 'Goodbye Girl', The King & I, Just So, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Underneath the Archers, West Side Story, Wizard of Oz
